About

Collection

Art in Healthcare’s valuable collection of 1,600 Scottish original artworks has been developed with care since 1991 through purchases and donations from artists and collectors. The collection includes different media – drawings, oil paintings, watercolours, printmaking and mixed media – in various sizes. Acquisitions are made based on our art policy to maintain a high standard of artworks, and ensure that they are suitable for healthcare environments.

Our collection includes established and celebrated Scottish artists including Victoria Crowe, David Michie, Elizabeth Blackadder, Alan Davie, John Houston, Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, Ian Hamilton, Frances Walker, Barbara Rae and many more. Also featured are contemporary and emerging artists, including Toby Paterson, Sophie Hopkinson, Ade Adesina and Carmen Ambrozevich.

Our aim is to share our collection with medical environments across Scotland to improve the healthcare experiences of patients, staff and visitors. As we regularly fundraise, we strive to upgrade our collection so there is always a good selection of artworks suitable for healthcare providers’ needs.
