The Art in Healthcare Volunteer Network

Introduction

In order to deliver the artwork rental scheme nationwide and provide a high-quality service, Art in Healthcare works with a network of volunteers. Volunteers liaise with hospital staff and patients, carry our work with the art collection, assist with special projects and events, and can present art discussion groups for patients and residents.

Why volunteer?

  • Gain new skills, knowledge and experience
  • Enhance a CV
  • Improve one's employment prospects
  • Use one's professional skills and knowledge to benefit others
  • Meet new people and making new friends
  • A chance to socialise
  • Get to know the local community
  • A sense of achievement

To help you decide, think about:

  • What would you like to achieve?
  • What skills can you offer?
  • How much time can you offer?
  • How long can you commit for?

AiH Volunteering Opportunities

  • Overseeing the hanging of paintings at healthcare settings
  • Carrying out AiH picture and label checks
  • Evaluation of the Artwork Rental Scheme
  • Provide art talk for patients or residents

In addition to these tasks, volunteers can also assist with:

  • Recruiting new volunteers
  • Building relationships with key personnel in local hospitals and healthcare centres
  • Administrative work at the AiH office
  • Artwork research
  • Mail shots
  • Special projects including assisting with exhibitions and events

We aim to make volunteering opportunities available to all, recognising that each individual has unique skills and abilities.
