Margaret O’Connor - Chief Executive

Margaret O'Connor joined Art in Healthcare as Chief Executive in January 2015 with a vision to unite her love of art with her knowledge of health and wellbeing needs to make a lasting difference for people in all parts of Scotland.

Margaret previously worked as a senior manager in local government for Adult Social Care and for many years as Cultural Services Manager for East Lothian Council. Having studied History of Art, Design & Film, Margaret went on to study for her Masters in Film Studies and was more recently awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Cultural Leadership and a Masters in Business Administration.

Margaret has previously served on lottery and performing arts committees for Scottish Art Council and is currently Chair of Port of Leith Housing Association and a member of Queen Margaret University Court of Session.

Enita Shala - Collection Manager

How long have you been at AiH now? Achievements during that time? Vision / what you wish to achieve next...

Our Collection Manager Enita Shala started her involvement with Art in Healthcare as a volunteer for a period of six months. Enita has a varied work experience in art project management in Edinburgh and abroad, mainly in visual arts, gallery education, cultural heritage and funding art organisations. With a degree in Art History with Humanities and MA in Arts and Cultural Management, Enita has always been interested in work that enables people to engage with art.

“My role with Art in Healthcare enables me to contribute towards making art accessible to people in healthcare environments and at the same time care for its valuable collection of Scottish contemporary artworks".

David Marr - Office Manager

David Marr joined Art in Healthcare in 2012 with a view to [what did you wish to achieve?]. What progress / have you made and what is in your sights for the next 12 months?

David studied BA (Hons) Fine Art at Grays School of Art, specialising in Printmaking. He then studied Maths and Science with the Open University. David worked at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland for several years, gaining experience in arts administration.
