Anne Mendelow works in oils, watercolours and pastels using landscape and interiors as subject matters. Still life and flowers are among her favourite subjects. Use of strong colour is usually evident in her painting. In recent years, painting trips to Italy, Israel, and the Canary Islands have featured strongly in her paintings. She enjoys experimenting in new media, such as monoprint and collage.
Having emigrated to Scotland from South Africa in 1977, she founded the Gatehouse Gallery, Glasgow in 1988 where she exhibits a wide variety of contemporary artists. She herself has been exhibited in Royal Scottish Academy.
