Tim Cockburn was born in Sheffield in 1955 and studied painting at Edinburgh College of Art from 1974-1978. An award from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation enabled him to paint in Tuscany and Umbria after which he travelled to India and Sri Lanka.
He has spent time at the Printmakers Workshop in Edinburgh as well as teaching at Telford College in Edinburgh. He has exhibited widely throughout Scotland and his work is represented in may corporate and public collections both in the UK and worldwide.
He lives and works in picturesque seaside village of Pittenweem, in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland.
