Reinhard's previous work with archeologists made him aware of the importance of found objects to support their theories. Like archaeologists, Reinhard incorporates found objects, his travels and various visual references to prove the existence of his theory. Reinhard's paintings of found objects reveal the archeological 'evidence' of the existence of life on Naboland. Naboland is the shared sum of associations stirred up when anyone looks at Reinhard's work.

Reinhard Behrens was born in German in 1951. He studied at Hamburg College of Art from 1971-78 and was awarded a Postgraduate degree in Painting from Edinburgh College of Art. He has lectured at Edinburgh College of Art, Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee. He was President of the Society of Scottish Artists from 1989-92.
