Elizabeth's early inspiration came from the ever-changing magnificence of the Scottish landscape. In 1979 she moved to a remote area in the heart of South Wales where she found new inspiration in the tranquility of the Welsh scenery. Seventeen years later, Elizabeth moved to the Scottish Borders and became immersed in the landscape of this area.
Elizabeth Reid was born in Leith, Edinburgh at trained at Edinburgh College of Art under Sir Robin Philipson and Sir William Gillies.
