Ginny Elston’s current practice comprises large scale, vibrant installations which contain colourful paintings, sculptures and objects that interact with each other. Her work explores where the boundaries lie between many binary concepts, and where these boundaries begin to dissolve. The resulting installations can be seen as both abstract and literal, decorative and structural, and simultaneously pictorially and materially driven.
Ginny Elston gained an MFA in Fine Arts and Humanities from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee. She has taught part-time at the Leith School of Art for several years, and during 2013 – 2014 was artist in residence at the Edinburgh Academy.
Ginny Elston is the winner of the Art in Healthcare Award, with funding from Turtleton Trust.
