Sara Beevers gained a first Class Honours Degree in drawing and painting at North Staffordshire University and a Post Graduate Diploma from Edinburgh College of Art. She won a number of scholarships while at College and travelled to New York, Philadelphia and around Italy.

Sara has had 5 one woman shows and won international art competitions, over 80 mixed exhibitions, has work in private and public collections both here and abroad.

Stemming from earlier subjects, such as the human figure, rigged ships and early aircraft her work has always employ a wide range of media to achieve the effect she needed, whatever the subject. Sara uses plaster of Paris direct onto paper, or makes moulds which are stitched onto canvas. She has also used doyleys, tissue paper, acrylic, crayon, pencil, biro tracings, string and sewing. At the moment the main focus is on swallows and swifts using mono printing and mixed media. All her work has a strong sense of energy running through it.

For the past twenty seven years she has run regular art classes in Edinburgh and more recently weekend workshops at her studio in Coburg House Artists studio’s in Leith.
