Lino printing is perhaps the most accessible method of print making, by simply carving a design onto a lino block, coating it with ink and printing onto paper or textiles you can achieve an intricate pattern or geometric design. The simple, but beautifully effective method of lino printing can be seen here, with its stylised lines and rich use of colour.

On The Tide depicts a moonlit seascape featuring two boats and many rippling waves. The dark blue, almost black, boat in the centre of the print appears to be moving at a quick pace, creating a rippling path as it moves. The larger, dusty orange boat ahead is grandly positioned and still on the open water. We begin to question where the boats are travelling to and what their purpose might be.
