“I chose to sponsor Pat Douthwaite’s The Birds and the Bees as it makes me chuckle. I was lucky enough to meet Pat and she had a grand sense of humour. I have very vivid memories of endless treks past a huge and striking painting by Frances Walker which brightened the route between the ward and the Special Care Unit in the maternity wing in Aberdeen where my son was born. I found it very comforting and hope others will find similar succour from Pat’s painting.”
