Taking Art Home is a project run by Art in Healthcare for people living across Scotland who find it difficult to get out and about due to long term health conditions.
The project delivers accessible online art workshops for adults living with long term health conditions, including long COVID, arthritis, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome.
A quality teaching artist works alongside participants in two dedicated groups, both created to support different comfort needs. Materials are sent out in advance. Each online group is a supportive creative community that offers both care and connection. Each year, we support around 80 individuals whose health conditions have a significant impact on their daily lives.
Through gentle, inclusive online sessions, participants can connect with others, explore their creativity, and take time for themselves in a welcoming and supportive environment. The current programme runs annually in seasonal blocks, allowing people to take part at a pace that suits their individual energy levels.
This work is made possible by our funder, The Agnes Hunter Foundation.
