Woven, recycled materials

‘In the shadow of the Mountain’ is a woven piece made entirely out of upcycled materials. The wool comes from carpet factory off cuts and the driftwood was found during one of my walks at Cramond Island. As usual, I was inspired by my travels around Scotland, observing nature and amazing colours of changing seasons.

I personally do not believe in psychological counselling, but rather the power of one’s connection to the nature eventually applied during creative and mindful proces of weaving or any other form of art and craft. Working with my hands helps me to release negative energy and submerge myself into the healing power of creativity. The more stressed I am, the more satisfying it is to release it into an inspiring piece of art.

This is my second piece of the landscape series and I am planning to create some more, all inspired by Scottish nature.
