Stillness is an orignal relief print, beautifully capturing the textures of woodcuts that have been used to create this artwork. The artist is known for her use of the natural grain in the wood which she used to beautiful effect to make her prints, which often have a spiritual theme. 

Pauline Jacobsen’s (1934 – 2014) studied at Ealing Technical College & School of Art (1949) and then onto The Slade School of Fine Art in London (1952). She had several solo exhibitions and exhibited regularly with the Society of Wood Engravers. Her work is held in the Aberdeen Art Gallery.
