Pittenweem is one of the fishing villages along the coast in the East Neuk of Fife. This view is an unusual one as it is behind the houses that frame the harbour. The artist, Susan Fleming, grew up in this area although she lived in the South of England for almost 30 years. Susan says, ‘Pittenweem has seen a lot of changes, becoming full of artists in the houses in which fishermen used to live.’
