Born in Glasgow, Steven Campbell (1953 – 2007) worked for years as an engineer before attending Glasgow School of Art and graduating in 1982. Steven emerged as a leading figure of a group of Scottish figurative painters who began to exhibit their work in the early 1980s and was renowned nationally and internationally.
