The artist, Cathy Trinder, was drawn to the composition and spacing of these birds against the sky and the line of rocks. They kept the colour palette simple using watercolours and pastels. When she became ill in 2011 with ME, Cathy decided to ‘become an artist’, to keep herself motivated after losing the capacity to work, along with everything else she used to be able to do (teaching, interpreting, nursing). Over the years, Cathy has gone from hardly able to hold a brush or choose which colour paints to use, to participating in exhibitions and open studios. This year, Cathy has had her work accepted at Archway Gallery in Lochgilphead.
