Join the Scottish Healthcare Collective for a free afternoon symposium event exploring the vital role of visual art collections and creative programmes in healthcare environments; accompanying the touring exhibition RSA200 | Art for Health.
The event accompanies the current touring exhibitions of visual artworks by RSA Academicians and Award Winners as part of RSA200: Celebrating Together – a partnership project bringing together hundreds of artists, partners, galleries and organisations to mark the bicentenary of the Royal Scottish Academy of Art & Architecture [RSA].
The symposium event is free to attend and will include an introductions by Sandy Wood, Head of Collections at the RSA and Jackie Sands, Strategic Arts and Health Development & Coordinator at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, who will offer insights into the work of art collections and creative programmes in healthcare settings.
The event will feature contributions from artists Ade Adesina RSA, Kate Downie RSA, Toby Paterson RSA and RSA award winner Rowan Paton, who all have artwork included in the current touring exhibitions. Each artist will discuss what it means to them to be involved with the RSA and to have their artwork in a healthcare collection.
